Executive summary

A tyre curing press used in vulcanisation was operating under high temperatures, causing accelerated hydraulic oil degradation and frequent oil changes. This resulted in increased maintenance costs and reduced operational efficiency.

A CJC® Oil Filter was installed to continuously remove contamination and degradation products from the hydraulic oil during operation.

Following installation, oil cleanliness improved significantly, oil lifetime was extended, and oil changes were reduced, delivering both financial and environmental benefits for the tyre factory.

Lower oil consumption and CO₂ footprint

Fewer oil changes reduced oil usage and associated environmental impact.

CJC® Oil Filter installed on the hydraulic system of a vulcanisation press to improve oil condition and extend oil service life.

Improving hydraulic oil condition in vulcanisation presses

Oil analysis showed accelerated degradation due to high operating temperatures in the curing press. Contamination and oil ageing reduced oil performance and service life.

After installation of the CJC® Oil Filter, oil cleanliness improved and degradation was reduced, stabilising oil condition during continuous operation. This enabled longer oil service intervals and more stable hydraulic system performance.

Measurable results and operational impact

The improved oil condition extended hydraulic oil lifetime and reduced the frequency of oil changes. This lowered maintenance costs and reduced production interruptions in the tyre curing process.

As fewer oil changes were required, oil consumption was reduced, contributing to a lower environmental footprint for the hydraulic system.
